Tokyo is a random place where random things happen with random people.
Really random.
So here’s a random recap of our weekend starting on Thursday night when Frenchie arrived…
No room at the inn- go to sister bar aka- teeny tiny and quiet library, beers in glasses so thin you thought you’d cut your lip with each sip, 12:30am dinner around a hot pot, the girls escape- the boys keep going-going- going, team works, cherry blossom, sweet potato, green tea and seaweed ice cream date with Frenchie and a too tan to fly in Japan flight attendant, wasabi fava beans and laughing cows in lounge, dinner around another hot pot- this one filled with the bounty of both the sea and land (sea-pig!!), Shibuya wandering, not-so-amusing Amusement Bar, more than one walk of shame out before ordering, GASPANIC, up in da club down in basement, dj in a wedding dress…
b-boy line dancing, my Wife’s Japanese boyfriend…
granny sweater guy…
beer, dancing, beer, dancing, tonight’s going to be a good night!!, beer, dancing, time to go, ditch Wife’s Japanese boyfriend, head to hotel, grab cameras, forget umbrella, line up for tuna auction, pouring down typhoon rain, boys don’t make it in time, trade can of Sapporo for half an umbrella, inside holding area for what seems like forever, insanely dangerous walk through typhoon rain trying not to get run over by mini fish cart thingies, finally inside again…
tuna, tuna, tuna…
yelling, bells, red paint, time to go, another dangerous walk through fish market, soaking wet, grab a cab, hotel just in time for breakfast, bread, bread, bread, bed, daylight fading when we awake, time to go, dinner around a Korean grill, happy Halloween, Flower, time to dance, no can do, head home, bed at somewhat decent hour of morning, breakfast, temple…
shopping, bad fortune, lunch with 2 ounces of water, 102 year old Nintendo DS addict, missed the drums, Japanese traditional music with a rock star attitude…
not-really-dancing Elvis’ in Yoyogi…
Harajuku girls...
crazy bike guy from last year, swimming through the sea of people on Takeshita Dori…
shopping, walking, shopping, so tired, hotel for nap, lounge, sushi roulette, bed.
There you have it. I may have missed a few things, but the important stuff is there even if you can’t really tell.
Random? Yes. Fun? Yes. Are we too old to try this again anytime soon? YES.
In total contrast of this past weekend we’ll be spending a night of reflection in a Buddhist temple on Saturday night. Seriously.

That may be your best post yet! :-) I followed the train of thought/happening now narration, which makes me think I could be slightly mad.......hahaha....gives me comfort nonetheless!
