the daily(ish)

We had a big surprise one day in the lounge when a woman came up to the table and said “Ms. Julie, I don’t know if you’ll remember me…” It was Meg- our favorite person from the hotel lounge in Tokyo. Aside from being shocked to see her (and that she knew all our names) we were so happy when she told us she had just transferred to Sydney.

Beyond being so nice and helpful (and always giving us beers after closing time) she was really the only person working in the Tokyo lounge that was actually happy to see us each night. Let’s just say our noise level was a bit much for a lounge where they would literally interrupt people on their cell phones to politely tell them they’d need to end their calls- now. God, I miss Japan.

Access to lounges are a HUGE benefit for us. You have no idea how nice it is to have somewhere else to go outside of our 150 square foot room. And hey, the happy hours aren’t too bad either. Especially when you have wonderful Megumi to give you generous pours at the end of the night…

We’re currently trying to talk her into transferring with us each round.
