the daily(ish)

You can always point out Georgian architecture because of the bricked in windows.  At one point during this period they began taxing people based on the number of windows you had in your home.  This prompted people to literally brick in their windows to avoid paying higher fees. The owners of this Georgian home apparently decided they didn’t like the look and painted in over the bricks…

If they taxed for tacky ideas, these people would be in trouble.
